Herd of swaledales in Dufton village

What a lovely sight to see this herd of sheep dashing towards us as we approached the hostel.

Light reflects upon High Cup Gill

Proof that Autumn / Winter walks can reward the hardy with some stunning sights. The late afternoon light on High Cup Nick was superb.

High Cup Nick

More imppressive than I had anticipated, High Cup Nick must be one of the most unexpected and outstanding natural features anywhere in Cumbria.

Kathryn and Shelley

Shelley in dry trousers!

Shelley took an unplanned dip into a small shake hole. Fortunately Paul Smith had some spare kit with him. No harm done ;-)

Lorraine on the edge!

Lorraine gets buffetted by the Autumn winds.

Getting chilly!

Pauls' pinpoint navigation

500m from this post Paul estimated the number of the post at our junction.

Naturally for him, he was right. Expert navigation!

Shelley before we ascended Scafell Pike from the steep side.

Curious Herdwick sheep greet us in Eskdale where we enjoyed a variety of walks and weather, mostly good.

Chilling out in Lathkill Dale

A special mention goes to Julie who completed Helen's Gritstone Trail walk and then went on Kate's Lathkill Dale walk the next day where we observed lots of wild life.
